Foster Homes are in High Demand
While the number of shelters and space in shelters is limited and there are always animals in need, there is now new hope for homeless animals in our area. A.P.E. and our affiliates are happy to be able to offer fostering programs for homeless animals.
A.P.E. is currently seeking individuals and/or families who would like to become part of the fostering program. While there are many rewards for fostering an animal in need, fostering is also a serious commitment. Along with fostering an animal, that may have been abandoned or abused, come behavioral issues, “accidents,” grooming and cleaning, and overall basic care, love, and attention. Foster families must be committed to their foster animal until it is adopted into its forever home. A.P.E. and our affiliates provide food and all preventative veterinary care to foster animals in our programs.

The mission of the Animal Protection and Education Charity (A.P.E.) is to help place unwanted animals, accidental litters, and adoptable animals, whose time has run out in local animal facilities, into loving, forever homes.
We also assist humane organizations in central Iowa with trap-neuter-return (TNR) and spay-and-neuter projects, as well as educate the public on humane training and proper nutrition for their pet. Our goal is to see Iowa become a No-kill State by 2020. With our focus on spaying and neutering of all mixed-breed pets, we believe this goal can be attained. |
