Attention Dallas County  Residents:

Due to a change in affiliation status, APE will no longer be able to offer low cost spay/neuter clinic in Perry, Iowa.  These clinics are sponsored by local humane societies that are affiliated with APE and actively strive to reduce euthanasia in exchange for free food and low cost veterinary care.

It is unfortunate that the local humane society in Perry has decided not work towards becoming a no kill facility and frequently relinquishes animals surrendered to them to a kill facility with a 65% euthanasia rate.  With gaining knowledge that the humane society is actively transferring animals for euthanasia versus listing for adoption, utilizing available foster homes, and attending public adoption events, it is a mutual agreement between APE and the Perry Humane Society to end affiliation status.

We will now be offering our clinic in Panora on a weekly basis.  Panora is only 30 minutes SW of Perry and, because of the new P.E.T.S. store on Main Street, we believe this will be an ideal location for everyone.  We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you but we are determined to continue to provide our low-cost services for the many barn, feral, and alley cats in Dallas County and surrounding areas.  If your organization would like to host a low-cost clinic in Dallas County, please contact A.P.E. at 515.460.SPAY for more information.

Thank you for your support; we look forward to working with you and your community to help end pet overpopulation.
