A.P.E. and our affiliates have pledged to strive not to put down (euthanize) healthy-adoptable animals.  All APE affiliates will continue to care for all healthy/adoptable animals until they are re-homed.  The A.P.E. affiliated shelters have pledge to treat conditions that other groups may deem un-healthy, such as mange and heartworm disease.  Additionally, A.P.E. has a professional animal trainer with certification from Purdue University in behavior modification.  Along with an affiliated shelter participating in a prison training program, dogs are seldom if ever euthanized for behavioral problems.
