Spoiled-Rotten Pets offers grooming for large breeds, small breeds, and cats. We only use shampoos that do not contain detergents. Detergents contain ethyl alcohol (ETOH), which may be harmful for your pet and the person doing the shampooing. ("ETOH is a potent central nervous system depressant that may be fatal if blood concentrations reach sufficient levels" Glo-Marr Products, Inc. 2001, Lawrenceburg, KY ) In addition, these substances may remove your pet's natural oils. Removing the natural oils may cause your pet's skin to "dry out", yielding a dry, itchy scalp. Please note that it is not required by law to list ETOH on the label of pet shampoos. All of our shampoos are mild enough to be used with "pour on" flea and tick killing preparations. They are so mild that they can be used as often as needed on puppies, kittens, dogs, cats, ferrets, and rabbits. The flea and tick shampoo we use contains the organic citrus compound d-Limonene, a natural flea and tick killer found in the rind of oranges. This shampoo also contains citrilene to aid in the control of skin problems caused by flea & lice infestation, and aloe vera to soothe irritated skin. In addition, we only use soften well water. With our naturally pure shampoos and no hard water deposits, your pet will have the cleanest, softest fur you have ever felt. |
