THE MISSION |
|
The Animal Protection and Education Charity is striving to make ALL Iowa Shelters no-kill by the year 2020! What is a no-kill shelter? A no-kill shelter does not perform euthanasia on animals solely to make room for others. Yes, they may have to humanely put down animals for severe behavioral problems or untreatable medical conditions. However, they do not destroy animals solely because their "time is up" or to make room for others in the shelter. A.P.E. hopes to accomplish “No-kill Iowa 2020” by networking with veterinarians and shelters throughout Iowa to provide affordable, spay-and-neuter services.
